 Welcome to Knock International
Hotel, opened in 1986 by the Curry family, descendents of
the visionary Patrick Byrne who witnessed the apparition of
Our Lady on August 21st 1879. The Curry Family have been catering
for the needs of pilgrims for years at Knock Shopping Arcade.
The Hotel is ideally situated in its own grounds in the heart
of knock, adjacent to the shrine. The Hotel is fitted out
luxuriously.
Knock is situated in the plain of Mayo, 7 miles from Claremorris,
Ballyhaunis and Kilthmagh. It is a noted place of pilgrimage.
It was the scene of an apperition of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
St. Joseph and St. John in 1879. Knock has been a place of
devotion and pilgrimage ever since, and is amongst the world's
major Maron Shrines. Over 1.5 Million vistors and pilgrims
visit the shrine annually.
